The Children's Studio

The best thing art education can offer a child is the experience of creating for its own sake. The product is never so important as the child's experience of creating it and the pleasure gained in the doing.

Children need to paint and create for their own enjoyment, not to imitate or please others. This is how they learn to trust their own ideas and find an inventiveness that gives them a fulfillment not dependent on the approval of others.

Painting Class

Children work in a studio setting once a week with handmade brushes, fine quality tempera paints and large sheets of paper.

Clay Class

Using fine quality white clay, children explore and create a wide range of forms. Some pieces will be glazed and fired in a kiln.

Intergenerational Art Workshops

Doing creative work together provides a unique opportunity for the child and adult partner to experience the non-verbal language of color, shape, line and texture. When parents engage in creative work, they demonstrate that art is in activity worthy of their child's attention.

Adult & Child Workshops

Side by side, adult and child explore the pleasures of creative self-expression using a variety of art media. Workshops can also be arranged for special occasions or on a monthly basis.

Family Art Time

A program personally designed for your family. Programs may include a combination of painting, sculpture, collage, clay and mask making.

Adult & Child is for several families and regularly scheduled where as Family Art is for 1 family only and is usually a one time affair, date arranged privately.

Vacation Camp

All vacation camp programs offer a variety of art activities. Each day will include painting and a snack, followed by a project in a second medium. Most camp programs are three days a week, two hours a day. Available during winter break, spring break and summer time
