Clay: Exploring the Form Within

The plastic nature of clay lends itself to a direct experience of process. With painting, the brush is the conduit for creative energy. Modeling with clay relies on the slightest pressure of hands and fingers. There is no intermediary.

Students will learn technique as needed to assist in self-expression. The focus will be on experimentation and spontaneous development of form. Some pieces will be fired and glazed in a kiln.

I saw the Angel in the marble
and carved until I set him free.
